Mid-South at the NC State Games

2010 NC Division Pools

2010 NC Division Pool Bout.

Mid-South fencers represented well in the North Carolina State Games, with each of the club’s athletes finishing in the medal standings. The State Games is held every year in June, and is open to fencers from across the Southeast.

In the Y12 Mixed Sabre, Tristan Manturuk took second place in his first State Games, finishing behind Charlotte’s Hunter Morrisroe. Tristan stepped up his game, after having a slow start to the day.

In the Open Mixed Sabre, Travis Clarkson won the Gold Medal, after defeating his clubmate, Mason Erb, in the semifinal round. Mason was seeded first going into the DE tableau, and finished the day with a Bronze medal.

Congratulations to all of our fencers- we wish them luck as we head into the final stretch before Summer Nationals
