Club Policies

Payment Policy:

Registration must occur online via www.midsouthfencersclub.org quarterly for classes or annually for memberships.  Once registration has occurred and payment is made, the strong expectation is that the student will complete the session.  Attendance at every lesson is important not only for the student but also for the development of the other students in that class.

Payments may be made online by credit card (up to 24 hours prior to the first class) or by cash or check on the first day of class or beginning of the membership period. Checks must include the student’s name and class time. Cash payments must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the student’s name and class time written on the outside.

A $20 fee will be assessed for any returned checks.

A $20 late fee will be assessed for any membership dues paid after the 10th of each month.  Thereafter, outstanding balances will accrue monthly interest charges at a rate of a 5% per year.

Class Satisfaction Policy:

Full refunds will be offered if after the first day of class the student and/or parent decide fencing is not for them.  After attendance at more than one session, refunds are only at the discretion of the Club, which will only be exercised in rare and unusual circumstances.

Withdrawal Policy:

If for unforeseen reasons (injury, prolonged sickness) a student is unable to participate in classes, a partial refund or credit towards future classes may be administered by request to the Business Manager.  Refunds are made by company check, and returned in the mail.

Prorated Class Policy:

Prorated classes can occur if permission is granted before registration and payment is made in full, and if there are spaces available.

Late entries to a class will only be accepted with permission by the instructor or coach.

Class and Lesson Make-Up Policy:

Class make-ups can occur during the same quarterly session for “like” classes.  Permission must be obtained by the instructor.

Individual Lessons require 24-hour notice of cancellation.  Fencers are responsible for rescheduling lesson appointments in advance.  Lessons cancelled due to coach travel or sickness will be made up on a timely basis.

Equipment Use & Safety:

Participants agree to abide by all written and verbal safety instructions and use all the equipment in a manner outlined by the United States Fencing Association (USFA).  Failure to abide by this safety etiquette will result in removal from the class without refund.  Breakage of club equipment and/or damage to the training facility from use not an in manner prescribed by MSFC or its instructors will result in the cost of replacement being charged to the customer.

Level I and Level II students are required to have their own fencing glove.  Level III and IV students (this includes all MSFC Members) are required to keep and maintain their own equipment.
