Introductory Classes

Mid-South Fencers’ Club makes it easy to get started in this exciting sport!

Introductory to Fencing classes teach the fundamentals of the sport as well as promote coordination and overall physical fitness. Our skilled instructors use a wide variety of games, drills, exercises, bouting, and other activities to create a fun and challenging experience. Tuition for an eight-week session is $175. All necessary equipment is provided. Please come dressed in athletic clothing, wear toe covering shoes, and have a willingness to have fun and try something new! New eight week classes begin year-round at Mid-South. Missed classes are easy to make up, adult classes are relaxed and casual. Fencing is a highly adaptable sport. Just let the instructor know if you have limitations you think we should be aware of. General class day and time meetings for this season are as follows:

2019 Introductory Fencing Courses:


Intro to Fencing: Ages 7 through 11, Mondays – 4:00-5:00pm

  • January 28 through March 18

Intro to Fencing: Ages 9 through 14, Wednesdays – 5:00-6:oopm

  • January 9 through February 27
  • March 6 through May 1 (No Class March 27 for spring break)

Intro to Fencing: Age 13 through Adult, Mondays – 7:30-8:30pm

  • January 7 through February 25
  • March 4 through April 22
  • April 29 through June 24 (No class Memorial Day)

Adult classes are casual and fun, allowing slow integration into our mainstream practices. Many adults also choose individual instruction at flexible hours to help build confidence. Everything can be adapted, including intensity level.
